    Re: Samba Support

    That should have been it given the state of your install. If you can't see the Linux box from your OSX machine you could use the miracle of avahi ( which is the Linux implementation of Apple's Bonjour ):

    [1] Create a file:
    Code:
    gksu gedit /etc/avahi/services/samba.service
    [2] Add the following to the file:
    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone='no'?>
    <!DOCTYPE service-group SYSTEM "avahi-service.dtd">
    <service-group>
        <name replace-wildcards="yes">%h SMB</name> ## Display Name
        <service>
            <type>_smb._tcp</type>
            <port>445</port>
        </service>
    </service-group>
    [3] Then save the file.

    ** Make sure avahi is running:
    Code:
    sudo service avahi-daemon status
    ** And if you have a firewall in the way on Lubuntu disable it or at least make sure ports 445 and 5353 are open.

    You should see it in OSX's Finder as "server210 SMB"
