    Re: Synaptic Package Manager Error

So I did your steps now in the file path:

    /etc/apt/sources.list.d

there is a file named '*' with "deb http://download.bitdefender.com/repos/deb/ bitdefender non-free" in it.

Before we proceed any further I was thinking maybe BitDefender doesnt work with Lubuntu?

Anyway my goal now is not to get BitDefender working but just to be able to open up my Synaptic Package Manager and make the Red/white error Circle in the task bar go away without having to reinstall Lubuntu. Also if you know of any easy to install antiviruses that would be great to.

    Re: Synaptic Package Manager Error

If you no longer care about BitDefender then just uncheck it and that should fix your package manager.

Bitdefender will work fine with any of the *buntus.

    Open lxterminal and run
    Code:
    sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/bitdefender.list

    sudo apt-get update

    My bad, for future reference.

    Code:
    gksudo software-properties-gtk
Will take you to software sources.

And the "rm" command stands for remove. So you removed BitDefender from the sources list.

    Re: Synaptic Package Manager Error

rm is "remove", which deleted the file causing your problem. sudo apt-get update refreshes your sources, which are lists of software repositories in /etc/apt/sources.list and /etc/apt/sources.list.d/
