How to order file/folders by right click?

    Hi to all.

At the moment, once I open Dolphin file manager I'm obliged to click on "View" then "Order" and then select "name" or whatever.
I wish I could simply do it by right clicking on the file/folder frame and select "Order by" -> "name", "date" or whatever I may need.
You know, it is nothing more and nothing less than how people do it in Windows.

Do you think it is possible?
    How, just in case?

    Thank you very much.
    Regards.

I don't think that what you want is available through mouse right click. At least there's no such option in Dolphin configurations.

You can customize the way files get sorted in the currently selected folder. They are sorted in alphabetical order by default but that can be changed via menu View -> Sort by

Re: How to order file/folders by right click?

Dear friend, thank you very much for your reply.
As you can clearly read in my post, I've been already using that function just the way you described it. But it is not enough.

In fact, I think it is very inconvenient to limit this function just to the View menu. You know, sorting files and folders in different ways according to your current need is a function of everyday use. Such kind of function MUST be available in an immediate way, even more available that the "Activity" button that you can find by the right click, especially taking into account that the Activity button is already quickly available by clicking on the task bar...

Hope someone can tell how to insert the "Sort" button on the right click window, even if that costs substituting or eventually removing such useless entries as "Activity".

    Thanks.

I understand your need, and I did notice you were already using that function.

Why don't you submit that feature as a request to Dolphin developers. The official channel for submitting feature requests is via the KDE bug tracking system.

Not sure that marking a new "bug" would be ok.
Actually, I cannot see any "suggest a feature" link in that page.

    Any other suggestion, please?
    Thanks.

Re: How to order file/folders by right click?

According to The Dolphin Handbook in the KDE Documentation web site that's the correct link for submitting feature requests.

    5.4.
How can I submit feature requests?

The official channel for submitting feature requests is via the KDE bug tracking system. The KDE bug tracker can be found at http://bugs.kde.org.
    You can verify it here.
