Hi there.
I have an ASUS G60VX Laptop. My problem is, like many owners of this laptop, the headphone-detecting switch inside the headphone port broke, so now Ubuntu thinks there are always headphones plugged in, which renders my speakers useless.
In Windows, it's a simple key-change in the registry, but I can't figure out how to do it in Ubuntu. Hopefully it's something that doesn't require a reboot every time I want to switch it, but if it is, Ubuntu reboots way faster than windows.
Any ideas?
Thanks
EDIT: I figured it out. If I open Alsamixer, scroll over to the right, and disable "Auto-mute," the speakers start working. That's a super simple fix. Thanks!
