Cannot boot from USB - Installing Windows XP

I've been wanting to install Windows XP on my USB, and I have succeed. But I've have been experiencing some problems: when I want to boot from a USB/or just start up my computer; hundreds of lines of code appear on my screen. I then have to hit "Esc" and enter a key phrase every time to login.

Any idea on how to fix this?

What method did you use to install XP to your USB device?

I used my laptop--it runs Windows 7.

I have Windows XP Professional/SP3 (.iso file). I extracted (or mounted) the ISO (using 'Mount Control') and used 'WinToFlash' to create a bootable USB flash drive.

Though I do think the problem I am having has occurred from a faulty installing of Ubuntu. But I thought I would mention it on the forums.
