Thumbs up files from scratch can't possibly have viruses

I'm sharing documents with fellow students, and I want to be sure I can't give them viruses. The documents were created from scratch with libreoffice; nothing was downloaded.

    Thanks!

I don't dare to say that it's absolutely impossible to manipulate a Linux Libreoffice to produce documents that contain malware executable in Windows, but I believe that there's nothing like that on the wild, virus developers have more efficient ways to infect Windows computers.

If you want to play extra-safe, install clamav and scan the files before sending them.

I would not worry about that. Also, if you are sharing these files via email, some email servers like gmail scan files for you. I imagine others do the same. clamav is also a good option, but if you are using web based email there should be no need for it.
