Can I edit Windows 8 Registry using ubuntu?

Im having a problem with Windows 8.
It doesnt start up after I loaded default settings on BIOS.
I get the error (INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE)

I think I found a solution to solve the problem, but I need to edit the Registry.

Is there any way I can edit the registry from here (Im on Ubuntu12.10 LIVE from usbdrive) ?

I know the Windows 8 registry vs the Windows 7 registry is a bit different, however here was a thread about your idea. IIRC, there used to be a linux distributions specifically for these issues....but I wasn't able to find it.
