Haya,

The last game on my list to get working before I uninstall Windows from my gaming machine is DOTA 2.

I can get steam working in wine and I can launch the game, all seams good.

It is however very unstable some times I can get as far as half way through a game and sometimes I cant even get into one. When it crashes it hangs the whole PC.

Does anyone else have any experience with playing DOTA 2 in wine?


Im using wine 1.5 and ubuntu 12.10 64 bit. (Will forcing wine to run 32 bit improve stability?)

It's running great with me. However full-screen's really wonky. Try running with launch options '-windowed -novid' or just set window in the game settings if it works long enough to do so.
