It would be a lot more helpful if you posted a link to their support page or something with the recommended setup instructions.

Who is your internet service provider?

Do you use them to provide email services?

    Do they have a website?

Try using POP settings instead of Imap.

I cannot find any instructions on the Iprimus website for setting up Imap mail, which normally uses different ports to those used by POP.

    Good Luck

    Re: Evolution mail settings

Oh thanks i changed it but me not using evolution for quite some time was confused by lots of it. Seems there was missing info and whatever i did still lead no where. I sent a test email from my yahoo account but nothing has happened and there is no inbox for me to check. Might have to start from scratch the trouble is i remember that did my head in ages ages and i gave up....shame because it was easy when i first got on linux as i used thunderbird and used it on windows for years too. Now even thunderbird is not behaving either

    Re: Evolution mail settings

Oh thanks yes that does look easy but i think this is what i referred to probably a year ago and somehow it all went wrong. I have reinstalled thunderbird just to make it easier then realised i don't remember the password
so will have to ring or email iprimus tomorrow as i think they are closed now. I did notice that the old setting/account was still on the computer so the crap account that doesn't work immediately was there in thunderbird after i ran it. So i deleted it so i could start again. I did try to do a test and it failed :0)
