    What's wrong with my screen?

I'm having lots of issues with 12.10. For starters, after 1.5-2 days of running without a restart, my screen looks like this: Screenshot from 2013-01-15 03:05:04.jpg

To be honest, I'm not happy with 12.10 at all. The webapps seems to be running all the time. Chromium eats up RAM too easily. The OS seems to be eating up 1.5 GB of RAM minimum. I expect that from Windows, but this is insane from Ubuntu.

So, I'm trying to fix one bug at a time. Starting with whatever eventually causes the screen to go buggy. As far as I can tell, I'm running the correct video drivers for my card. It's a Dell Inspiron 1545 with a GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics chip. GLXINFO is installed and the system is showing the correct chipset: GM45.

    Any help is appreciated.
