    This is embarrassing, and I am sorry for wasting your time. The wifi switch on the front was turned off. Now it all works well.

    It surprises me that rfkill list all did not report anything blocked.

    Thanks for help anyway.

    I'm on the same boat. However, I'm still not sure if its just the front switch that its set to off; it has a spring that makes it go back to its starting position...

    Same error, already tried:
    -disable encryption
    -disable network-manager (actually uninstalled it)
    conky gui: thread, web site
