Clock and Calendar disappear from the panel

So I recently upgraded from 10.04 to 12.04 and since I am now using Thunderbird instead of Evolution as my email client, I removed evolution from the system, I wasn't aware that date and time was dependent on Evolution. And so now there is no Date Time appearing in my panel.

I've re-installed evolution since then but date time is still not visible. I can't even see the date-time option in system settings.

Can somebody please let me know how to get it back?

    Thank you in advance.

If you are using gnome fallback desktop, I think it will be enough to add the clock through alt+right click on panel, when menu appears you select add to the panel, and click on clock, add.

This way has to add the date and hour to panel, then you custom your preferences.

I haven't made any changes with respect to using gnome fallback desktop, so I'm using whatever came as default I guess that'd be Unity. Alt+righ click on menu panel doesn't show any menu.

You can try alt+ windows key +right click to add something to panel.

This thread can be useful: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1969297

It would be desirable to know what desktop are you using in order to get the better advice.

OK, as you are using unity as desktop, this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1742543, comment 3, explains how you can recover your date and time applet.
