I have an Asus Zenbook UX32VD with 64 bit Windows 7 installed as the default OS. I'm running into a lot of problems getting a Linux dual boot working - I tried installing Linux Mint and Ubuntu 12.10 non-UEFI and editing the Windows bootloader to be able to boot into Linux without messing with the MBR, but the bootloader refused to boot into Linux (Windows still worked/works fine). When I try to boot into a live USB of Ubuntu 12.04 (I also tried 12.10, same thing) 64 bit in UEFI mode, it just goes to a GRUB prompt screen and when I try to execute the "boot" command, it says "kernel not loaded". Does anyone have any idea of what to do, do I need to use the UEFI boot and if so how do I get it to work? I really don't want to have to reformat and repartition my SSD to run on MBR/BIOS since that'd involve a lot of work to get Windows working again. Thanks for reading, any help would be much appreciated. I need Linux on my laptop for class so this is becoming a real problem, hopefully there'll be a way around all the issues.
