Re: G+ community for U+1
One the one hand I agree... but one of the things I don't like about the Ubuntu G+ community (and no offence Jorge!) is the huge number of help requests there are (almost one every five minutes!), and with no way of filtering those out so I'm notified only about development-related stuff it means (for me) it loses focus quickly. Of course, if and when Google sort out proper moderation features this should become more useful (for me ).
You are right about the dilution effect of having too many avenues. For example, there's a U+1 team with mailing list that's not used, mostly I think because everyone is on here anyway!
(Aside: I'm also not sure of the advantages over a specialised forum - I just think it's Google making an integrated Blogger/Groups/forae product that they can data mine and can be used as an identity service. Commenting on someone's blog means you have to register and log in first - but not on G+. Big idea.)
I guess I'll leave the G+ community there with a nice big link to this forum. Maybe just use it as an announcement feed?
