Ubuntu 10.04 freezes when the screen is turned off

    Hello everyone,

I am having quite an annoying problem, which is when the screen on my laptop is turned off, after some time the computer freezes. I mostly notice it while listening to music, in these cases the music gets choppy (15-20 minutes after the display has been turned off) and after 2-3 seconds it stops, the computer freezes and I can only turn the laptop with the power button off. (no other button, combination works)

With the fresh install I can't recall having this problem, must have been caused by either of the updates.

I tried to read through the logs, but the closest thing I could find is "pulseaudio[1396]: ratelimit.c: 1 events suppressed" 24 minutes before the fresh start. I don't know if it is of much help...

Thank you for your help in advance!

Solved by installing elementary OS, now working on getting the wifi working.
