Can't load Windows 7 after installing Ubuntu 12.10

Hi there, I just installed Ubuntu 12.10. When I want to boot up Windows 7, it automatically boot to Ubuntu. When I install Ubuntu, I clicked install Ubuntu INSIDE Windows 7 and this problem came up. Can I ask why is it like this and how do I fix this problem? All your help are much appreciated. Thanks =)

When Wubi installs fail, it is usually the OPPOSITE problem -- booting into Win7 by default and not into Ubuntu.

Are you SURE you installed inside Windows?
    Ubuntu 20.04, Mint 19.10; MS Win10 Pro.
Will not respond to PM requests for support -- use the forums.

In Ubuntu, open a terminal by pressing Control-Alt-T and type in the following:

    Code:
    sudo fdisk -l
    (that's a lowercase L, not a number one)

It'll ask for your password; type it and press Enter.

Copy and paste what it tells you into a post here, so we can see exactly how you installed your system.

Normally the install should go all okay and you'd never need to do this, but something strange has happened and we need to know what it is.
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.

(note to people reading this thread later to help: I don't think the poster used Wubi. When the poster tells us the output from fdisk we'll know for sure. Please read their fdisk output before trying to help)

I really hope you made backups....
Because I am also sorry to tell you that you did NOT install ubuntu within Windows, but rather installed Ubuntu in place of Windows. So your Windows 7 partition has gone.

If you have the recovery discs that came with the computer then yes, it should be easy to reinstall Windows.

If you want to have Ubuntu and Windows on your computer then you should read up on how to dual boot.
