    Blizzard Announces Linux Game

    From phoronix.com:

"Blizzard Entertainment, the game studio behind wildly-popular games like World of Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft, is planning for a Linux game announcement in 2013."

They say they will target Ubuntu just as Valve has done.

I personally am hoping for a native WoW client, or, barring that, Warcraft 4 (seriously it's about time...).

Whatever it ends up being, I'm buying it.

Hopefully it will be Warcraft 4. WoW was a big disappointment, and I personally feel that WoW destroyed the Warcraft series.

If it is WoW that get ported (which is most likely), I will not buy it or subscribe to it.

Oh that would be awesome. Any game they port will be a step forward.

WoW itself I don't feel was a disappointment but rather WoTLK was the begin of the fall. The original WoW game I feel was actually pretty good.

    You forgot the source http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pag...tem&px=MTI2ODE

I think that each release the popular game on Linux makes Ubuntu more attractive to players. Although I'm not a fan Blizzard and I don't play WOW, Diablo, etc..

I like WoW and will likely buy the game what ever it is. Blizzard makes good games. Its about time they started selling them to us.

Phoronix? Well, the only reason it was right on Steam for Linux is the same principle as a broken clock being right twice a day.

IF there's any truth to this, I wonder what's pushing Activision to (maybe) publish some of it's Blizzard label titles under Linux. And if this means more than just Diablo 3 or WoW.

Not trying to sound discouraging, but Linux engines for Neverwinter Nights and the iD games didn't exactly cause a wholesale move away from Windows to Linux. Hopefully (and I do hope), this move by Blizzard, along with Steam (if they can get off of "steam time"), MAY make the best OS more attractive. I hope.

Gaming is the only thing that keeps a windows partition anywhere near my PC, so the more gaming that comes to linux (whatever the form) is a big positive for me.
