adhoc captive portal software?
I have Ubuntu on my Asus eeepc and also have apache installed. I would like to find some software that works like a captive portal on a wifi router but instead do it over an adhoc network so that when anyone sees my signal ('file server' for example) it would instantly direct them to the ip address, index.html or which ever one would be appropriate to rout them to for them to see the web page to browse the files.
ps i have looked elsewhere and have not found exactly what I'm looking for (maybe because I'm a noob when it comes to networking and didn't know it when it was staring me in the face) but if someone could reference me some good software that is straightforward and easy to configure i would really appreciate it
Re: adhoc captive portal software?
well never mind I figured out what to do I can just reroute all traffic on a specific port to an ip using the ip tables
Instructions for anyone else looking to do this here: http://adminuser.wordpress.com/2008/...sing-iptables/
