    Unhappy 12.10 - Problem Updating Software

    Hi, I cannot use the update manager as it shows up an error message. Please help me.

    Things to know:
    - Ubuntu 12.10 - Unity (as well as Gnome Fallback).
    - Laptop with a stable wireless connection (which means I DO have an internet connection).

    Please check the screenshot I've attached.

    Thanks

    Re: 12.10 - Problem Updating Software

    Hi,

    You have an outdated PPA configured in Software Sources. XBMC 11.0 is included in the standard 12.10 repositories. If you want to try XBMC 12.0 Beta, add the repository for it using the instructions here: https://launchpad.net/~team-xbmc/+archive/unstable

    It appears that the instructions on the XBMC wiki for 12.10 are a bit out of date.

    Are you able to install some software either from Ubuntu software center or terminal? If you are able to do that please refer to -> http://askubuntu.com/questions/21043...are-center-can
    Also try to see if the same error persists when you run
    $ sudo apt-get update
    $ sudo apt-get upgrade
    in terminal?

    Thank you guys! I removed some external ppa's and it worked (you're right about XBMC)

    Have a great 2013!
