double commander in official SW resource

I mean, I've read it's not good to add PPA's to SW repositories because of the possible security risks...

This is a community of volunteers -- we have no influence on what Canonical includes in the repos.

There are a few two-pane file managers in the repos already

apt-cache search two pane file manager

That said, I don't see a problem adding this PPA, looks like it's been around for awhile.

And the developer replied:
"Only official Ubuntu maintainers can do it."

So we got stuck in the dead-cycle. Perfect. Is there any way how to solve this, please?
