Need help installing logitech wireless mouse in 12.10

I am new to ubuntu and just installed 12.10 on an old Toshiba Satellite laptop and it is working great so far. Just need some help installing a Logitech usb wireless mouse for the laptop.

It should be plug and play. I had a logitech MX mouse and all I had to do was plug it in and play it. Which one are you trying to use? I found two possible solutions that you can try since I myself do not know as much as I wish I did. I hope this helps

Hmmm...apparently the usb port I chose is not working or disabled. I plugged it into a different usb port and it's now working. Thanks!
