Alright, I have recently installed ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS and my wireless connection doesn't seem to work (only wired). Going to follow (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6183681) so you have all the information you need.

wow, thats a lot of info. I read around some before posting here and i think that what might be the problem is that this laptop has a button which disables wifi. it is switched on now, but someone wrote that it might not be possible to switch it on again in ubuntu, but that i would need to go back into windows to do so which i don't have anymore (deleted it as it was broken).
