is this mpeg2 or is there an 'mpeg'

I am exporting a video using openshot. For profile I selected DVD NTSC.

When looking at the properties, It says mpeg. I thought DVD was mpeg2?

    You can also try
    Code:
    avconv -i path/to/file.mpg
which will tell you the codec.

"mpeg" has become a fairly generalized word often referring to: Moving Picture Experts Group, the container formats (.mpg, .mpeg, .ps, .ts), the standards (MPEG-1, etc) or their parts (MPEG-2 Part 2, etc), and/or the video formats such as MPEG-1 video and MPEG-2 video. DVD video can be either, but I've never seen a commercial DVD with MPEG-1 video.
