Best IM for LXDE?

Hi, all
I have just gone back to Lubuntu after experiementing with OpenSuse and Fedora.
My dilemma is this: I can´t seem to get photo sharing to work in Pidgin, which I understand is a known issue. However, using Kopete works, but seems to use so much system resources that it defeats the object of using Lubuntu rather than another Ubuntu flavour.
I only use Yahoo and MSN accounts.
Does anyone have any suggestions, please?

Posted this a while ago, got no answers.
Can anyone recommend an IM client that works with picture sharing?
Kopete works, but is system hungry in Lubuntu.
Pidgin doesn´t seem to work very well in this respect

I am trying to find an IM program that supports photo sharing, other than Kopete, which seems to slow down Lubuntu.
I love Lubuntu for its speed and simplicity.
Does anyone have a suggestion, please?

I have posted elsewhere and got no answer, so have posted this in the hope of help.

Thanks for the reply. As I understand it, isn Skype really for phone use, rather than instant messaging?

With the Skype 4.1 you can merge with your MSN account and you can chat and make video calls with your msn/skype contacts.
