Hi Folks,

I have been using the utility Autokey which is a keyboard macro/text replacement tool for linux.

It was a great program. However, the developer has stopped supporting it and there is a problem (a few actually) with Autokey and Ubuntu 12.04.

I was wondering what, if any similar programs people are using?
I looked about online and didn't come up with much at all. Perhaps, my search skills are deficient or perhaps there really isn't anything out there.

Basically, what I am looking for is something that will replace text like adr with my email address in whatever program I happen to be using (text editor, web browser form, terminal etc.)
