That show was a bit too "Uncanny Valley" for me to enjoy as a kid (or as an adult, for that matter); still sorry to hear this.
I remember Stingray. I must have been too old when Thunderbirds was playing.
Use whatever OS or desktop works for you. Dual boot or use VMs if you want. Backup your computer regularly, and definitely before upgrading, partitioning, or installing an OS.

Gerry Anderson was way ahead of his time,,,, Mind you, you could (and still can be) in Sci Fi. I do wish we had a real International Rescue, complete with those fantastic machines. Although quite how they'd manage the amount of calls they'd receive these days, is anyone's guess.
Those shows never appealed to me as a kid growing up. Then again I look back on original transformers and wonder how the heck I got into watching them as well.
I will admit the action in those shows was pretty good for its time and his creative element will be missed. May he rest in peace..
