    Exclamation Cannot install ubuntu without pae?

    I wanted to install ubuntu at first on my computer which is a little old, i downloaded the iso got it into a usb with universal usb installer, but then it told me it needed pae, i read in the internet that supposedly xubuntu didn't needed it I did the same opperation than before with xubuntu 12.10 but it didn't work either, I don't know which one do i need to install.

    12.04 mini iso plus Xubuntu or Lubuntu desktop perhaps? That'll give you 5 years support (I think).
    IIRC Xubuntu 12.04 has a non-PAE kernel & is supported for 3 years (as opposed to Ubuntu's 5).

    If you have access to a computer with PAE, you can install on that and then install the latest non PAE kernel.
