touch screen notebook with UEFI/GPT
On an Asus x202e touch screen notebook with UEFI/GPT : the new stuff,
If you remove the HDD that has Win 8 preloaded and replace it with another HDD or SSD = new out the box from Computer store, do you still have the problem with secureboot?

Re: touch screen notebook with UEFI/GPT
Yes.
It is a setting in UEFI and Microsoft requires the vendors to turn that setting on in UEFI.
But users are also supposed to be able to turn it off and then it is like any non-secure boot system. You could then install in UEFI or BIOS mode.

OK so even if it's a new hard drive you still have the UEFI problem.
So now my problem is how to keep it off...?
