Heh! The following leaves me scratching my head...
I tweak a few files, every time GS is upgraded -- basically, aesthetic stuff. I change a few things I can't stand to look at, like the butt fugly time/date menu (e.g. digital clock) in the middle of the upper panel.
One of the files I hack is:
/usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/workspace-indicator@gnome-shell-extensions.gcampax.github.com/stylesheet.css
I change the default file from:
Code:
.panel-workspace-indicator {
padding: 0 8px;
background-color: rgba(200, 200, 200, .5);
border: 1px solid #cccccc;
}
To:
Code:
.panel-workspace-indicator {
padding: 1px 7px;
background-color: rgba(000, 000, 000, .25);
border: .5px solid #aaaaaa;
}
No big deal, right?
The funny thing is, this css file occasionally reverts back to the default code, in between upgrades.
LoL! I don't understand the process taking place here -- never seen anything like it before.
It's like my computer is haunted...
