    How did you get the top panel transparent?

    I use an 'older_than_dirt' GTK+ theme: GnomishDark

    I hacked the workspace-indictor css file and made it a trans button (documented a couple of posts back).

    I still need to get rid of the $#@! clock - that thing is like a virus. Grrr...

    Looks like 'they' got rid of the '/usr/share/gnome-shell/js/ui/panel.js' file. That's where I used to squash it.

    Matter of fact, I'm going to see where they moved that function, right now.

    Thanks for reminding me!

    Yes I follow all posts here..
    I've been playing with /usr/share/gnome-shell/theme/gnome-shell.css
    Then The #panel Well Here
    Code:
    #panel {
        color: #ffffff;
        /*background-color: black;*/
        background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.6);
        /*border-image: url("panel-border.svg") 1;*/
    }
    But it breaks my system

    Sometimes I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.
    This should have been at the bottom
    Code:
     background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.6);
    All's Welll that ends well..LOL

    Heh! Totally borked my GS staging install, while upgrading 3.11.1 => 3.11.2

    Got stuck in a 'partial upgrade' loop -- thought I could pull it off, but no joy. GDM / GS / Mutter all disappeared.

    Oh, well, it'll give me something to do today -- putting Humpty Dumpty back together again...

    You just hate when things just work!

    But when I saw Nemo being removed it was a no GO!
    The work flow with Nemo for me is a must...
    Code:
    Calculating upgrade... Done
    The following packages will be REMOVED:
      cinnamon cinnamon-screensaver gir1.2-muffin-3.0 libcogl-pango12 libcogl12
      libmuffin0 libmuonprivate1 nemo nemo-fileroller nemo-preview nemo-terminal

    This will be a fun one -- total breakage! Yay!

    First impression is... ricotz/testing packages aren't playing nice with the other PPAs.

    I need to check out my sources list(s). I *know* it's a complete mess, at this stage.

    Thankfully, I always have Ubu 10.10 at the ready.

    Hrm...

    Well, I got GS to load again, but now my mouse pointer has disappeared.

    Evidently, GS isn't recognizing my display.

    I'm tired of messing with it. Tomorrow is a new day...

    Heh! That was a good one!

    Took me four days to figure out how to get my pointer back in GS...
