    Re: GNOME3 Staging PPA

Man, I don't *know* what happened (maybe it was the QT4 upgrades), but...

This display is sharp as a tack, now! Chrystal clear opacity, fonts never looked better or more readable, blah, blah, blah.

    Unity even looks good.

    Think I'll go try LXDE...

    EDIT

    Yep, LXDE looks foxy, too!

Still have a nagging problem with lxsession (need to stop it during the session 'cause it uses 100% CPU), but the display looks shockingly good!

    Hrm...

Anyway, back to GS, and back on topic.

It's just difficult to fix, that's the problem. I think the developers should care more about regressive bugs like this one than about "improvements". How can one improve something when one is confronted with regressiveness? This shouldn't have been an issue in 12.10. I expect improvements from the developers, not regressiveness.

Yeah, things are downright flashy. With the exception of gdm things are very snappy too ....... no waiting for dash or most apps to open, it's just da' bomb

Instead, get them from Gnome3 PPA (raring branch).
    Here:
    https://launchpad.net/~gnome3-team/+..._filter=raring

The build has failed, so we have to wait a bit more.
I had gotten a bit frustrated with this GS stuff and purged the PPAs both gnome3-staging and the ricotz/testing one.

I just added the one above and got updates and nothing really changed.
Am I missing something? Do I need to add another PPA or tweak it or what?

    Re: GNOME3 Staging PPA

OK, I am getting a tad better at this. I installed the icons, and themes but, am wondering why there is no Shell Theme in Tweak tools.
And why is so many things dark like my cairo dock. Many of the items as you can see are black.
My cursor is on Gedit in the dock and you can see what it looks like.
But over all this is pretty cool!

Is it because of the missing Shell theme in Gnome Tweak tools?

And also do we report bugs caused by using this ppa? I had that happen a while ago and didn't know if I should report it or not.

w00t! This thing is flying, again, with 3.8-rc3!

I still can't figure out what borked this machine, or what fixed it. LoL!

ATM, if you have all the packages installed from the Gnome3 Staging PPA, you do not need another PPA to be enabled.
