The Binding of Issac Problems

I just brought The Binding of Issac in the Humble indie bundle 7 package, and when i have installed it the game seems to lag, and it has a really slow response time! I'm no expert but i have my PC dual booted with windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.4.1. On my windows side i have installed the Binding of Issac without any problems and it runs without this lag and slow response. On my second Ubuntu computer i have this same sort of problem when i run BitTrip Runner. Is there a way to fix this at all?
