Why is wireless so complicated on Ubuntu?
I've installed Ubuntu 12.10 on an Acer Aspire 1830T.
I've got Ubuntu 12.10 on a USB using PenDrive and I've got it on a CD.
Everything works except wireless. I don't have a wired Ethernet.
I've searched the 'absolute beginners' forum posts re: getting wireless working and found them overwhelming.
I ready to give up on Ubuntu unless someone can help me.
$ lspci -vvnn | grep 0280 gets me:
Broadcom Corporation BCM43227 802.11b/g/n [14e4:4358]
Please help...I'd love to switch to Ubuntu completely, but if I can't fix this its back to windows 7.
