I used k3b to burn it to a dvd , I only saw one set of menu Items , I chose "try without installing" , I'll try unetbootin and see what I get .
if it ain't broke you haven't tweaked it enough

Raring seems to be picky about its boot setup. Give unetbootin a try. Like I said, I saw two entire sets of boot options in the initial menu. The items from the top (first) set gave me results like what you saw. When I tried the 'Install Ubuntu Gnome" (something like that - I don't remember the exact wording) down below it worked perfectly.
the problem is my test box not the .iso , I tried the dvd in my "WORK" box and it booted to desktop just fine , I'm going to get a different MB for my test box I've just had too much grief with the current one .

Sorry your test computer is sick, but glad you got the UGR iso to build.
it isn't really sick its been been a problem since I built it . I normaly use MSI mobo's this is the first ( and last ) gigabyte I've tried . Its not so much that there is anything "wrong" with it, it's just too picky to coexist peacefully around here .
