FreeCAD doesn't work on Ubuntu 12.04

    Hi,

I have installed the freecad package but FreeCAD just doesn't work.
When I launch it, I do have the main window but menus are mostly empty.

For instance, the File menu just has one 'Exit' entry...

How can I complete the installation of FreeCAD?

    Thanks,
    Fred

NB: I installed the opencascade package too, to be on the safe side, to no avail.

    Nevermind, I figured it out.
The View menu offers the possibility of showing all sorts of menu items.

FYI FreeCAD v0.13 was just released after 13 months of development. It has a boatload of new features over the v0.12 in the current Ubuntu repositories.

I recommend you update your FreeCAD version to v0.13 by adding the new FreeCAD stable PPA repository.
