Ubuntu 12.04 hangs on purple screen, on the first boot!

Hi friends! I do need some help here.

Ubuntu 12.04 64 bits was working wonderful,but the last days, when I start the pc it goes trough grub and then hangs on purple screen.
The strange thing, is that after a hard reboot it goes fine again.
I have search the web and found that others also had in the past the same problem, what I do not have found yet is the solution.
I do not believe that it has to do with the video card, because the graphics are working fine.

can maybe someone spend some time with this question?

Thank you for answering so quickly. I just have start believe that chances are that there will be a shine light on the end of this tunnel.
