Windows 8 without hardware acceleration

I've got an old dell and I'm running 12.04 on it. I've run into the issue with Windows 8 failing. However, I don't have the hardware capable of vm use. Is there a way around this annoying issue? I can't use vmware player either since I'm on a 32 bit processor.

Have you considered dual booting? Mind you windows 8 has reasonable hardware demands so just check if this is worthwhile...

if it is old hardware and you dont have enough resources to run a VM it is unlikely you have the resources to run Windows 8.

You cant expect to run the latest software on old hardware.

Indeed. I run it here on a vm but this is with an 8 core amd cpu and 16gig system memory so heaps of resources to allocate to a hungry guest.

I struggle to understand why any software vendor still releases 32-bit versions of new OSs these days.

If people want to cling to old hardware then they can keep using old software.
