Unhappy TouchPad doesn't work after suspend/hibernate

After putting my laptop (old Benq R55ve) into sleep mode or hibernation the TouchPad isn't operable. When I wake the computer the pointer is stuck in the place where it was before suspend and cannot be moved.

When I connect a mouse everything is OK. It's the issue with the TouchPad that I cannot find any solution to.

Has anyone experienced the same problem? How can it be solved?

    [Lubuntu 12.10]

Anyone? Please, this is really irritating.
I try to persuade my wife to use lubuntu on the notebook, but bugs like that aren't helping
