Intel i5 Ivy Bridge 2.8Ghz (3.4Ghz Turbo), 64bit user, AMD GPU 7700 series
Worked perfectly! Thank you so much! And I agree with making this a sticky. I'll attach the install output. There was a "install script not executable" message but everything works. I installed using gdebi. I initially tried without a network connection, copying on a USB drive. I got an error message that it was unable to download files. Plugged in another network adapter and it installed as expected.

Oscar,
Wrong driver for your device i think.
Your TL-WN723N device has an RTL8188SU chipset not RTL8188CUS.
Tim.
Tim is correct. Here is some information about your device:
http://wikidevi.com/wiki/TP-LINK_TL-WN723N_v1
Note the caution about multiple versions of the same model # using different chip sets. That bugs me but the majority of users (windows & mac) don't know and don't care. I see these entries:
brcmsmac 550698 0
brcmutil 14755 1 brcmsmac and similar.
I'm wondering if your device has a Broadcom chipset.
Tim and Kurt
Thankssss, so much, I solved it!, you are right I was installing wrong driver, I search the correct driver for my TL-WN723N ver 3. although the driver isn't RTL8188CUS, the correct driver for me is RTL8188EU,
How I solved exactly?
I download driver for TP-LINK_TL-WN723N_v3 the first file in gitub:
Xubuntu 12.10 use this -> https://github.com/liwei/rpi-rtl8188eu
Xubuntu 13.04 use this -> https://github.com/purchae/rtl8188eu
And unzip file,
$ cd directory_driver_unzipped
$ sudo make
$ make install
Reboot my pc and worked it
PD:
Because I testing the USB wireless adapter in my laptop (although it have the wireless "broadcom chipset" fine ) this install testing is for a customer, and just I have my laptop for this casebrcmsmac 550698 0
brcmutil 14755 1 brcmsmac and similar.

Nice detective work Oscar. No shortage of RTL8188 variants, is there? Perhaps your adapter supports 13 WiFi channels vs. 11 channels in N. America?
This worked great thanks a lot! I just bought a monoprice branded RealTek RTL8192CU to replace a ralink adapter that got crushed (it still worked but the signal wasnt great).
My speed isnt as good as I expected but that may be unrelated.
