    Laptop Is this a monitor problem or just the cable to the monitor ?

    This is on my laptop now ...
    Is this a monitor problem or just the cable to the monitor ?

    is your system working otherwise?
    then i would say it's the cable. sometimes it gets better/worse when you move the laptop lid. have you tried to attach an external monitor?

    Perfect on the second monitor no change when you move the laptop around I think it is the monitor.

    Try to squeeze the plastic bezel just below the purple lines and see if they change. Try squeezing at the top and bottom. If the lines do change, then it's possible that your screen is suffering from delamination. This happens when you open the lid from the corner causing the glass to flex.

    A cable problem causes you to lose a color, say red, green, or blue, or the entire screen will black out or flicker.

    Did you spill any soft drinks or coffee lately?

    true, it doesn't have to be the cable.

    anyhow changing lcd screens is possible.

    An old Sony Vaio with Centrino CPU, big full hd monitor he is not here so I don't remember the model

    1 processor with 1 GHz?
    i think this piece is old enough to try sth like what i did here.
    in other words, it shouldn't be too hard to get a machine with a compatible screen for a few ... rubels? ...and try the replacement.
