    Looking to get icons

Sorry for the probably-beginner question, but I was wondering if there's any way to get the Fedora XFCE Spin's icons into Xubuntu. Possibly a repository? I haven't been able to find any explanation for how to do this, however. Many thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

You have a few choices in getting this icon theme into xubuntu.

    1. Copy the /usr/share/icons/Fedora directory from the fedora spin and paste it into xubuntu.
    2. Grab the files from the rpm file (clicky) and extract them into xubuntu.
    3. The theme looks alot like the cheser theme (clicky). You can install that theme instead.

As to where to copy the files in xubuntu, you have 2 choices:
    1. /usr/share/icons - for full system use (requires root privileges)
    2. ~/.themes - for user-specific use (it is a hidden directory and if it doesn't exist, you need to create it first)

    Re: Looking to get icons

Wow, thanks for the helpful and quick responses!
I had considered trying to copy the icons from an existing Fedora install, but wasn't sure exactly where that might be. Those other themes look like pretty much what I was looking for, too; surprised I didn't notice them on my earlier trip to XFCE-Look.

    Thanks!
