unable to view flash on websites

I am unable ti view the flash websites or flash headers on the website.
Problem is on both Firefox and Chrome.
Adobe Flash Player is installed.

are you using the one from the restricted extras package or the one from adobe?

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

if this doesn't help,I found that this did the trick for somebody

 sudo apt-get install hal
