12.04 How to install configure

No configure script. (see below) Where to obtain and install configure?

:~$ cd Date-Calc-6.3
:~/Date-Calc-6.3$ sudo chmod +x configure
[sudo] password:
chmod: cannot access `configure': No such file or directory
:~/Date-Calc-6.3$

I have never used Date-Calc myself but I always prefer to install applications the easy way. i.e. via the package management system...

sudo apt-get install libdate-calc-perl
