    Sputnik - Dell's Ubuntu-based developer laptop is here

    Mark Murphy, Global Alliances Director at Canonical, announces that Sputnik (Dell's Ubuntu based laptop for developers) is available for purchase. "The Dell XPS 13 is a top spec, high-end ultra-mobile laptop, offering developers a complete client-to-cloud experience. It is the result of the Dell's bold Sputnik initiative which embraced the community and received terrific response from developers around the world."     Jono Bacon unveils his Ubuntu appreciations a little bit later due to his paternal obligations. However, Bacon complement those mentioned in previous editions of the Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter.     Maia Grotepass of the South African LoCo writes about preparing the reapproval application for the team and reflects upon the progress made in the past two years.     • The team working on the Nexus7 is very close to releasing a first 'raring' image for the Nexus7.

    Matt Fischer: Getting Juju With It

    Matt Fischer blogs about his new experience with Juju and Juju charms. It all started in Copenhagen at UDS-R where Fischer had his chance to try Juju in practice and not just in theory. The Juju Charmschool Fischer attended gave him motivation to write his own Juju charm and to continue discovering the capabililities of Juju.     Xubuntu: FAQ for Xubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal

    The Xubuntu Team has written a Frequently Asked Questions section on their website for users to solve common inquiries. "In this particular release of Xubuntu we have moved out of Xfce 4.8, into the most recent 4.10, this carries some issues when updating that we would like to help you overcome" states the post.

    AIR Donates 50 Computers in Gomoa East

    Daniel Kwaku Ganyoame shares a press release on Modern Ghana which informs us that "Africa ICT Right (AIR), an ICT-oriented non-profit organization has donated 50 computers valued at $12,500 to three schools in the Gomoa East District." The article further notes the computers run Ubuntu Linux.
