Hello. I downloaded xubuntu and meant to do a iso usb thing, however I messed it all up and now its the only thing on my computer. I have no windows 7.

I have no gui, no desktop. When it starts I have to log in and it's only a terminal.

I have the iso on the usb still but not sure how to access that yet. I'm using a friends computer at the moment to be on here. I don't know where to begin with getting internet access on the linux one.

Need some help with this one, I don't know where to even start.

Are you able to log into your newly created account?

If so what happens if you type in

startx

into the terminal?

I think you have installed minimal . Mean cli only .

it would be good if you layed out the procedure you followed for install. what image you downloaded (server or desktop)?
it would also be good if you mentioned your graphics card.

even if oyu have command line interface you would still have internet access and can download necessary drivers and install them. additionally you can also browse the internet using a text based browser
