    Can't login after installing proprietary drivers; GeForce 8300 GS

    Hello all!

    After installing linux mint 14, I would install the proprietary drivers due to the graphical glitches that would result from the default driver (such as missing text). The story was the same for each driver tried, could never login after installation.

    Installed Ubuntu 12.10, same problem. (32-bit OS both times.)

    I can't use the IGP, as there is no VGA port off the mobo.

    Any thoughts?
