Which mfg actually "embraces" linux. It looks like Brother does the best. But it also seem people report few issues with HP.
Any advice...
Canon Laser MF4770n
Brother MFC-7460DN
HP Laser Pro M1212nf
12.04

I have used nothing but HP printers for some years and have had no problems. I have not found or heard of an HP printer that doesn't work with HPLIP. I have found, though, that for my purposes it is best to get and install it from the HP site rather than the repositories. The versions in the repositories seem not to be compiled for scanner support; at least the scanners on the all-in-one printers don't seem to work unless you get HPLIP from HP directly.
Hi,
I think in general you will find that HP is very popular choice for ubuntu users.
Old 2210 Series in my case.

The above is my experience with HP install. Seemed to go pretty good. Most problems seem to be repository, not HP.
