I'm running 12.10
Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E7200 @ 2.53GHz × 2 Desktop
Intel® 965G x86/MMX/SSE2
6 GB ram

No matter what time is selected under "Brightness & Lock" the screen saver kicks in (i.e. screen turns off) after 10 min. I've tried adjusting this setting using the gsettings command. No change.

Suggestions?

Not a whole lot of unique software installed . . . I think I have a pretty "normal" (whatever that is!) install.
