purge get rid of eliminate all google chrome from Ubuntu?!

My google chrome profile is all screwed up.
    Start page can not load
    Browsing history cant load
    Chrome is randomly locking up
I get multiple chrome icons in the notification area, sometimes 2 or 3 even with only one window open.
I am sure there is more.

I backed up my bookmarks with xmarks
I did a remove with synaptic complete, but when I reinstalled, all the problems are still there. It did not remove anything since it reloaded my prior opened tabs,
    I had also logged out.

So how do I purge it out to start fresh?

Ok, I found out the files in your home folder are in

    .config/google-chrome

    I removed chrome
    I deleted that folder
    I logged out

    I installed chrome
    I installed xmarks
I logged into xmarks and told it to sync and all my bookmarks are back, including my extensions.
    I can view my history

I just have one icon in the notification error and no more profile cant be loaded error messages, so I think a success!
