    Question What does "PCM Volume" in Gnome Alsa Mixer mean?

    In Gnome Alsa Mixer you can adjust the PCM volume. What does this mean?

    PCM volume means Pulse Code Modulation, usually an uncompressed audio stream, either from a microphone or audio file such as a CDA audio disk or .wav audio file.
